Initiatives
- $1,000 increase in annual base salary for employees with FTE .75 or greater (equity increase) to help address the increase in medical insurance-related costs
- Increase of the campus minimum wage to $11 for full-time positions
- Staff cost of living increase
- Faculty merit pool
These initiatives are effective for employees with SFA service beginning Feb. 1, 2024 or earlier. Pay increases will be reflected on March 1, 2024 paychecks, and the president is the final authority on all eligibility and compensation requirements.
Employee eligibility details for $1,000 increase
- Faculty and staff employed in a full-time (.75 FTE or greater) permanent budgeted position as of Feb. 1, 2024 and as of the payment date are eligible if funded from university funds (E&G, auxiliary, designated).
- Employees in a full-time (.75 FTE or greater) permanent position funded from restricted, grant or gift funds may be eligible if allowed by the grant or gift agreement, funding is available, and appropriately approved.
- Examples SFA Gardens, SFA Charter School, etc.
- Return to work after retirement (RTW) employees in full time (.75 FTE or greater) positions as of Feb. 1, 2024 and as of the payment date are eligible.
- Full-time employees with permanently split positions totaling at least .75 FTE are eligible.
- Employees with employment agreements containing retention payments or automatic salary escalators and salary greater than $100,000 are not eligible.
- Casual and temporary employees are not eligible.
- Adjunct and visiting faculty members are not eligible.
- Student and graduate assistant positions are not eligible.
Staff cost of living adjustment eligibility
- Staff members employed in a permanent position (.50 FTE or greater) as of Feb. 1, 2024 and as of the payment date are eligible if funded from university funds (E&G, auxiliary, designated).
- Staff in a permanent position (.50 FTE or greater) as of Feb. 1, 2024 funded from restricted, grant or gift funds may be eligible if allowed by the grant or gift agreement, funding is available, and appropriately approved.
- Examples SFA Gardens, SFA Charter School, etc.
- Employees with permanently split positions totaling at least .50 FTE are eligible.
- Employees with incentive contracts are not eligible.
Faculty merit pool
As an initiative of the provost, faculty members are allocated a merit pool. To qualify:
- Faculty must be merit-eligible
- Eligible faculty members employed in a permanent budgeted position as of Feb. 1, 2024 are eligible if funded from university funds (E&G, auxiliary, designated).
- Eligible faculty employed in a permanent position as of Feb. 1, 2024 funded from restricted, grant or gift funds may be eligible if allowed by the grant or gift agreement, funding is available, and appropriately approved.
- Full-time faculty with permanently split positions totaling at least .75 FTE are eligible.
- Faculty merit pool will be distributed according to HOP 03-404.
