‘Gallantry: A Soap Opera,’ ‘Gianni Schicchi’ among SFA Opera Theater highlights

The one-act opera, "Gallantry: A Soap Opera" by Douglas Moore, will be performed along with Giacomo Puccini’s "Gianni Schicchi" through April 2.


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin State University voice students, from left, Aaron Fish, junior from Stinnett; Ronnie Stovich, senior from Texas City: and Aaron Dominguez, graduate student from Midland, are among the cast members in SFA School of Music’s presentation of “Gallantry: A Soap Opera” by Douglas Moore in this year’s Opera Theatre production. One-act operas “Gallantry” and Giacomo Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi,” along with the chorus scene “Stomp Your Foot” from “The Tender Land” by Aaron Copland, are the featured works to be presented at 7:30 nightly through Saturday, April 2, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
