NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and its galleries will host two events to showcase exhibitions currently showing in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House and in Griffith Gallery.

Bill Nieberding, assistant professor in the School of Art, will host an open forum gallery discussion and a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, in the upstairs Reavley Gallery in Cole Art Center in conjunction with his show, “Personae in Places: The Photography of William Nieberding.” The exhibition, which explores the artist’s fascination with the human form in public spaces over the last two decades, will show through Oct. 21.

The following week, Wayne Kimball will host an artist talk and reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in Griffith Gallery where “Fragmentation: The Lithographs of Wayne Kimball” is on display. The exhibition will show through Nov. 10.

Kimball’s work can be viewed from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, Oct. 3 through 7, prior to the SFA School of Theatre’s Mainstage Series presentation of Molière’s “Tartuffe” at 7:30 nightly in W.M. Turner Auditorium.

The Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches. Gallery hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Griffith Gallery is located in Griffith Fine Arts Building, 2222 Alumni Dr., on the SFA campus. Gallery hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
