NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Tickets are still available for the Chris Young and Big Joe Walker concert, presented by the Stephen F. Austin State University Student Activities Association, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in the William R. Johnson Coliseum on the SFA campus.
Young, a 29-year-old RCA Records country singer, was the 2006 winner of the reality music show "Nashville Star." Young's current hit single, "Who I Am With You," reached number one atop the Mediabase Country Singles Chart, as well as claiming the number one spot in Rolling Stone's poll of Best Country Songs of 2014 So Far. The award-winning singer-songwriter also has claimed six additional number one singles in country music.
Also performing will be SFA alumnus and Dallas singer-songwriter Big Joe Walker. Known for his Texas Country style of singing and playing, Walker's music embraces every element from country to gospel, and his recently-released single, "Friday Nights in Texas," just spent nine weeks on the Texas Music Chart. Aside from touring, Walker also reaches fans through his radio show held every weekday from 9 to 11 a.m. on Texas Red Hot Radio.
Attendees are asked to park in SFA's commuter lot, located north of the coliseum. Tickets range from $20 to $30 and can be bought at the door the night of the concert.
