The Stephen F. Austin State University chapter of Dancers Against Cancer and Phi Psi fraternity, along with the Gobel School of Dance, will hold a benefit concert supporting cancer research at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Shelton Gym on the SFA campus.
The groups will present a wide variety of dance performances, including jazz, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical and comedy. All proceeds from the concert will benefit local breast cancer support groups.
"Cancer is something that will directly or indirectly impact us all," said Courtney Vernon, president of Dancers Against Cancer.
"Giving back through the art of dance is a way to raise awareness and honor survivors and those lost to cancer."
Tickets will be sold at the door and are $3 for students and $5 for general admission. For more information, contact Kayli Steger Head at (936) 468-2553 or stegerkn@sfasu.edu.
