Tickets are still available to "Simply Sinatra Christmas," a concert by pop sensation Steve Lippia and his 16-piece orchestra, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. The concert is a part of the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts' University Series.
Lippia, who is renowned for his interpretations of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, is one of the most in-demand vocalists in the nation. His shows appeal to long-time listeners and introduce a new generation to the timeless music, said John W. Goodall, associate dean of the SFA College of Fine Arts.
"With much of Steve's program devoted to holiday classics such as 'Let it Snow,' 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town,' and 'Winter Wonderland,' the concert offers a wonderful way for families to welcome in the holidays," Goodall continued.
Lippia and his band will also present non-holiday Sinatra standards such as "My Way" and "Luck be a Lady."

Prior to the concert, Goodall will give an informative talk about Lippi and the program at 7 p.m. in Griffith Gallery, located across the hall from Turner Auditorium. The audience is invited back to the gallery after the performance for a reception honoring Lippia and the event's corporate sponsor, Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital.
W.M. Turner is located in the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 2222 Alumni Dr.
Tickets to the concert range from $35 to $17.50, with discounts available for seniors, students and youth. For tickets or more information, please go to www.finearts.sfasu.edu or call (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS.
