NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Nashville-based photographer and videographer David McClister will present an informal slide presentation, "Outtakes & Ramblings," at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, in Room 106 of the Stephen F. Austin State University Art Building. The public is welcome.
McClister, who specializes in documentary, photojournalism and portraiture, has photographed a host of celebrities ranging from Willy Nelson, Dolly Parton, LeAnn Rimes and Brad Paisley, to Vince Young and Spinal Tap. His corporate clients include Newsweek, Billboard, Outside's GO and Marie Claire.
McClister's true passion, however, is documenting aspects of contemporary Southern culture, ranging from square dancing to dirt track races, from boxing to "rastling" and celebrity fans at concerts and other events across the South, explained David A. Lewis, SFA associate professor of art history.
"Outtakes & Ramblings" will be the culmination of McClister's two-day visit to the SFA campus during which time he will meet with SFA photography students during class sessions and in their studios.
McClister's visit is sponsored in part by the SFA Art History and Photography Programs. For more information, please contact Lewis at (936) 468-4328.
