NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art will offer a gingerbread house making workshop for area first through eighth graders from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, as part of the Creative Art Wednesday program. The class will be held at the SFA Art Education Graduate House, located at 115 Feazell St., behind Wendy's Restaurant.
Participants will work in groups, with each group creating a gingerbread house that can be entered into the Nine Flags Festival Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays Contest.
The class will be taught by SFA art education majors under the guidance of SFA Assistant Professor Marsha Blount and graduate assistant Stina Jimerson. The $5 registration fee covers the cost of materials.
Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, Nov. 30. Parents should e-mail Jimerson at jimersonck@titan.sfasu.edu.
"Parents are welcome to stay for the class, but due to limited space, we ask that they not bring small children who are not enrolled," said Blount.
