NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Community members can still register for the bus tour the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art is sponsoring to the Dallas Cultural District on Friday, Feb. 13.

"We are offering a wonderful chance for community members to visit the Dallas Museum of Art where 'Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs' is currently on display," said Jill Carrington, SFA associate professor of art history and the trip's coordinator. "Participants can also visit the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crowe Collection of Asian Art."

At the Nasher Sculpture Center, participants can see "George Segal: Street Scenes," featuring 15 of Segal's single- and multi-figure installations that explore the themes of urban life.

On display at the Crowe Collection of Asian Art are exhibitions of Chinese tomb art, tigers in Japanese art, Japanese snuff bottles and contemporary Japanese quilts.

Cost for the tour is $60 for community members. The price includes transportation, lunch, admission to the Dallas Museum of Art and Tutankhuman exhibition, and admission to the Nasher Sculpture Center. Admission to the Crowe Collection of Asian Art is free. Participants will need to bring money for a fast-food supper.

The buses will depart from the north end of the SFA Commuter Parking Lot on University Drive at 8:30 a.m. and will return to Nacogdoches around 9 p.m.

Seating is limited, so advance reservations with payment in the form of cash or check are required. To register, please contact the School of Art office by calling (936) 468-4804. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 5 p.m.
