NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present a student-directed production of Murrah Schisgal's "The Typists" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, in the Downstage Theatre of the Griffith Fine Arts Building on the SFA campus.

Austin senior Zach Russell plays Paul, a typist who is experiencing his first day at the office, and San Antonio senior Jessica Moore portrays Sylvia, a veteran typist who befriends him. As the two get to know one another, they reveal many of their inner thoughts. And although the action covers only one working day, the characters seem to get older and older as if they had been on the job for decades.

The play is directed by Chad McElveen, Lufkin senior. T.D. Harris, Shreveport senior, serves as stage manager.

While at SFA, McElveen has also directed "Perchance" in the Upstage Theatre. He has acted in the Mainstage productions of "Big River," "Six Degrees of Separation," "The Servant of Two Masters" and "The Night of the Iguana."

He also appeared in the 2008 Summer Repertory productions of "Androcles and the Lion" and "Crimes of the Heart," and in the student productions of "The Labyrinth," "The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow" and "Da 'Nile."

The Downstage Theatre is located on the first floor of the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 2222 Alumni Dr.
