NACOGDOCHES, Texas-The Stephen F. Austin State University Department of English will host writers Robert Wrigley and Kim Barnes as the department's Spring Reading Series continues at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, in Dugas Liberal Arts North, Room 102.

Wrigley's collections of poetry include "Earthly Meditations: New and Selected Poems"; "Lives of the Animals"; "Reign of Snakes," winner of the Kingsley Tufts Award; and "In the Bank of Beautiful Sins," winner of the San Francisco Poetry Center Book Award. He currently serves as director of the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Idaho.

Barnes is the author of two memoirs: the award-winning "In the Wilderness: Coming of Age in Unknown Country," which also was a Pulitzer Prize finalist, and "Hungry for the World." She has written several novels, including "Finding Caruso" and "A Country Called Home." Barnes also was recipient of the PEN/Jerard fellowship given to an emerging female writer of nonfiction.

The husband and wife pair's creative works are inspired by such subjects as the American West, the environment and nature.

Dr. Daryl Farmer, associate professor of English and coordinator of the event, encourages the public to attend the reading. Admission is free.
