Dress up and journey with Alice "down the rabbit hole" and "through the looking glass" during the Stone Fort Museum's fifth-annual Halloween festival Friday, Oct. 31, on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.
The Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and Ugly Duchess all await visitors to this year's "History was Never Scarier" event. Kid-friendly tours of the museum will join Alice on her fantastic adventures in a Wonderland famously created in 1865 by English author Lewis Carroll.
"No ghosts roam through our haunted house, but there may be some scaredy-cats who wish they could disappear when they meet the Queen of Hearts," said museum director Carolyn Spears. "The fun will continue out on the lawn with carnival games like flamingo croquet and Pin the Grin on the Cheshire Cat."
Festival hours are from 6 to 10 p.m. Halloween night, and all activities are free and open to the public. The museum is located at SFA on the corner of Alumni Drive and Griffith Boulevard. Free parking is available on the south side of the building, and paid parking is available in the garage directly across the street from the museum.
