NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Theatre will present a student-directed production of Charles Emery's "The Red Key" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Downstage Theatre of the Griffith Fine Arts Building.

The one-act is set in a 1930s house filled with suspense and suspicion, explained director Weston G. Wetzel, senior theatre major from Mart. With its dramatic rush of fear, secrecy and curiosity, "The Red Key" causes us to ask whether we can really trust those we love, he continued.

The cast of sophomores includes Margaret Lewis of Richardson who plays Karen; Blake Weir of Sugar Land who portrays Karen's fiancé, Nicholas; and Caroline Smith of Austin who plays Nicholas' sister, Hester.

Wetzel's previous directing experience at SFA is as the assistant director for "Take Five." His other Mainstge Series credits include lighting design for "The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow" and sound design for "Lend Me a Tenor." He was the assistant designer of lights and sound for "Six Degrees of Separation."

He has also designed the sound and lights for several student productions.
