'Tis the season for SFA's annual tree-lighting ceremony, featuring live musical performances, refreshments, children's activities and a toy drive benefiting the Women's Shelter of East Texas.

The Residence Hall Association is sponsoring the "Holiday Extravaganza" from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in front of the Austin Building. All students, faculty, staff and friends of SFA are invited to attend the event, which will feature performances by Soul to Soul Gospel Choir, the SFA Choir and the Raguet Elementary School Choir

"To go along with this year's tree-lighting ceremony, RHA is hosting a toy drive to benefit the Women's Shelter of East Texas," said Savannah Sloan, RHA president. "We encourage everyone to donate a new, unwrapped toy to bring cheer to a child this holiday season."

The tree-lighting ceremony will get under way with remarks from SFA President Baker Pattillo. Refreshments will be served, and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available immediately following the tree-lighting ceremony.
