Title: The Emanis House
"This is the house my family moved to in Dec. 1954. My daddy was sick and he thought living back in Arcadia, where he loved, would help him feel better. My mother worked at a grocery store in Center, Texas, Sandeis Grocery & Piggy Wiggy's. I attended school in Timpson, Texas. I was a freshman in High School. We were poor and the house had electricity but no running water inside. It had an outhouse out back and a cistern in the back that we drew water from. My daddy was a farmer and my brother and I helped when we were not in school. My mother believed in getting an education."
