Title: Field I Ran Through When the House Caught Fire
"When something like this happens, it remains in your memory even when you are just 4 years old. The old Emanis House caught fire and my mother was there without a car and with my baby brother. She sent me to run to the store in Arcadia, Miss Lou's, and I cut across through a neighbor's pasture and I remember being more afraid of the bull that was in the pasture than anything else. I ran over a mile to the store and was put in a wagon with lots of men who put out the fire when we got to the house. The house didn't burn down so I must have been running very fast."
"The picture is of the field that is now trees that I ran through. I guess being downhill helped me go faster."
