"Sometimes there was a school in the bottom and sometimes there was church, but not very often that I remember. I do remember that there was a lot of singing in there. The Masonic Lodge was upstairs and my daddy belonged to the lodge. I remember one time we were playing outside and I wanted something to drink so I went upstairs to ask Papa for a nickel. He gave me the nickel and told me to 'shoo'. "
