Renée Hart Wells, a descendant of pioneer Texas families, is the author of Hardin County: A Pictorial History (2009). After thirty-one years as a school administrator, Renée retired and turned her energy to active involvement with both the Hardin County Historical Commission and the Hardin County Genealogical Society. She and her husband Cecil reside in Lumberton.
