"I remember the road before it was paved and when it snowed you could not drive up snow hill. We had a syrup mill, some line shacks, wagon and mules, and [the] remains of an Indian reservation on the property. We did not have to plow very long and we would find pottery and arrowheads, many of which were given to SFA. Profs from SFA had diggings on the property. Our land was the on the school boundary line so I attended two schools. Timpson and Center.
I remember going to cake walks in the Masonic Lodge and the Crawford Store which had the Gas Container on top that I never did understand. There was a man by the name of Shorty that walked to town and back every day."
