"This home belonged to my Aunt Nara Emanis Hughes and Uncle Voyde Hughes. I spent many, many summer weeks here. Aunt Nara had a huge canned goods cupboard in the garage. I loved looking at her finished products. They were beautiful, not to mention delicious. She had a huge garden and I helped her pick peas when I visited. They did not buy milk or butter or eggs, so visits here introduced me to the richness of these products - took me awhile to get accustomed to the different flavor of the "real" things. So many memories of poking around in sheds and barns. Homemade ice cream! The pond out back."
