"This building was located south of the intersection of FM 1645 & 138 when I was a child. My maternal grandparents, Elroy and Marquette (Wallace) Emanis, operated a grocery store (M and E Grocery) there, and I remember watching the farmers and ranchers come in and eat sardines and drink V8 Juice. My siblings and I would sit on the counter and drink Coke by poking a hole in the cap and sipping from it."
