Voices from Small Places - Arcadia, TX
PhotoVoice is a method wherein volunteers are given cameras and journals and asked to respond to a set of guiding questions through photographs and writings. For this project volunteers were asked to address the following questions:
- What places in Arcadia do you value the most and why?
- What places in Arcadia are important to you in your personal history and why?
Using this method, personal remembrances are recorded that are directly tied to specific places within the community. This method, in conjunction with oral history interviews, provides a more intimate understanding of place and how it is interpreted by the individual.
