RemoteLive event features Sarah McLachlan
September 18, 2012
Multi-platinum, Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan
"Through the technology of RemoteLive, audience members can view the live video and audio of McLachlan in perfect synchronization with every keystroke on the Yamaha Disklavier Player Piano as if she was playing the piano in person in Nacogdoches," according to Mario Ajero, associate professor of piano at SFA.
Much of this technology was made possible through successful beta tests Ajero conducted last spring.
The event is free to the public, but seating will be limited. The 6 p.m. broadcast will be preceded by a lecture at 5:30 p.m. in which Ajero will explain the technology that makes it possible for the artist to "play the piano for a live audience over 2,000 miles away," he said.
The Music Recital Hall is located in the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building, 2210 Alumni Drive.
