The news was announced by Oscar Harper, president of Southern Power, at a recent ceremony commemorating the opening of the company's newest biomass plant. The Nacogdoches Generating Facility is the largest wood biomass power plant in the United States. The plant will be fueled by non-merchantable wood waste and is expected to provide enough energy for 60,000 homes.
