SFA Music Preparatory recitals scheduled

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Students enrolled in private and group lessons offered by the Music Preparatory Division of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will perform in a series of end-of-the-semester recitals in mid-December.
Three separate events will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Wright Music Building, 2210 Alumni Dr. At 10 a.m., Suzuki violin students of Brenda Josephsen will perform in the Cole Concert Hall. In the same location at 2 p.m., piano students of Dr. Ping-Ting Lan will present their recital pieces.
Also at 2 p.m., Christie Cook's classical guitar students and piano students of Stephen Adams and Missy White will perform in the Music Recital Hall, Room 160.
At 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, in Cole Concert Hall, Fulton Miller's percussion student, Sarah Reimund's trumpet student, Max Wilson's bass student, and piano students of Meghan Kelly and Emma Krivohlavek will present their recital pieces. The SFA Children's Chorus, under the direction Nicole Stewart with assistance by Brandon Nichols, will also perform.
Also on Dec. 12 in Cole Concert Hall, Mary Cooper's piano students will present their recital at 4 pm.
The piano lab students of Dr. Mario Ajero will perform at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, in the Music Recital Hall.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, strings students of Dr. Jennifer Dalmas (violin), Dr. Evgeni Raychev (cello) and Max Wilson (bass) will present their recital in the Music Recital Hall.
The Piney Woods Youth Orchestra will perform at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, in Cole Concert Hall. The orchestra is directed by Raychev and Richard Leppert.
Piano students of Linda Parr will present their recital at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, in the Music Recital Hall.
All of the recitals are free and open to the public.
