Baylor trombonist to give recital at SFA

Brent Phillips, assistant professor of trombone at Baylor University, will give a guest recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in Cole Concert Hall as a presentation of the SFA School of Music.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present Brent Phillips in a guest trombone recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in Cole Concert Hall, 2210 Alumni Dr. on the SFA campus.

Phillips and pianist Vincent DeVries, both assistant professors at Baylor University, will perform works by J.S. Bach, Anthony Barfi, Phil Snedecor and Richard Peaslee.

In addition to teaching trombone at Baylor University, Phillips is the principal trombonist of the Waco Symphony and the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania. He has been featured with the Marine Band Chamber Orchestra, and this past year, he performed regularly with the Houston Symphony Orchestra and the San Antonio Symphony.
