'Elephant Man' continues through Saturday

Stephen F. Austin State University theatre students Sean Fitzpatrick and Margaret Lewis rehearse a scene from Bernard Pomerance's "The Elephant Man" that continues tonight through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in W.M. Turner Auditorium. Fitzpatrick, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., plays Dr. Frederick Treves, the doctor who attempts to integrate John Merrick (commonly referred to as "the Elephant Man") into Victorian London society. Lewis, Dallas freshman, portrays the actress Mrs. Kendal who befriends Merrick. The drama received the 1979 Tony Award for Best Play. It is recommended for mature audiences.
