'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' runs through July 12

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The School of Theatre at Stephen F. Austin State University presents its SummerStage Festival, featuring "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" running Wednesday, July 3, through Friday, July 12, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus. The show features, from left, Shelby Miller, Wichita Falls sophomore; Jason Couch, Nacogdoches freshman; Carson Cook, McKinney sophomore; Roz Couch, Nacogdoches community member and SFA theatre alumna; Trace Killian, Forney freshman; Caitlin Edwards, Nacogdoches senior; and Alexis "Alli" Beck, Nacogdoches senior. With music and lyrics by William Finn and book by Rachel Sheinkin, the show is about an eclectic group of sixth graders who make their way through a spelling competition where each reveals his/her hopes, struggles and passions through songs. General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students/youth. This show has some adult themes and is recommended for mature audiences (PG-13).
