SFA University Police Department Van Certification

University employees must receive Van Certification before they will be allowed to drive a university van. Please see HOP policy 05-519 (training and certification of university vehicle operators).

Van Certification Classes are by appointment ONLY

(walk-ins are not accepted)

All classes will begin promptly at the stated start time listed below.
Any student showing up after the class has begun will not be allowed entry to the class.
Classes will be held in the UPD building located at 232 East College Street.

We no longer accept walk-ins for driving permits and van certification.

Please bring the following completed forms when you come to your appointment for van certification

  1. Approved Drivers Application 
  2. DPS Driving Record - Please fill out and bring it with you, DO NOT send the form in the mail or request a driving record online.
  3. Driver Certification Questionnaire 
  4. Copy of your driver's license

Your driving permit/van certification permit will be delayed if you are missing any documents.

If you have received a driving permit from the UPD, please email your full name, driver's license number, and date of birth to Erika Sanchez-Garza at Erika.Garza@sfasu.edu.
