Office of Multicultural Affairs

The OMA will host online events to finish off the spring semester! Check out their line up by following their social media accounts @OMASFA (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook)

Please note: In order to receive access to the OMA's online events via Zoom, you will need to complete the survey for each event on the OMA's website or social media accounts. A SFA email address is required for security reasons.

Something to Chew On

TBD Fall

The OMA brings the discussion to you with its event series called "Something to Chew On". SFA Students, faculty/staff and community members are encouraged to join in this open dialogue and participate in interactive activities focusing on the topic of Gender Roles. Light refreshments will be provided. This event will last until 1:00 p.m. so feel free to come by any time before then to participate. Those wishing to participate virtually can attend the livestream via Instagram @omasfa1991.

National Coming Out Day

National Coming Out Day (NCOD) is held annually on October 11th - National Coming Out Day itself. This is a dedicated time for all of us to increase our knowledge about LGBTQ+ communities and identities, and for LGBTQ+ communities to come together and celebrate!

Center for Career and Professional Development

The Center for Career and Professional Development is still here to assist with your career development needs! Our team can conduct career coaching and mock interview appointments virtually, and we are still critiquing resumes and professional profiles virtually as well. Upcoming workshops will take place via Zoom, and recordings of those events will be made available in Handshake after the event wraps up.

Lumberjacks GROW Program

Now is a great time to try out virtual interviewing and practice articulating the skills that employers are looking for. Lumberjacks GROW (Guided Reflection on Work) involves a short online survey, followed by a virtual mock interview using InterviewStream. The CCPD team will review your interview responses and provide feedback within ten business days. All you need to participate is 20 minutes in a quiet space and a webcam enable device. Service Programs

SFA Dance Marathon

TBD (Spring)

Established in Spring 2016, SFA Dance Marathon program is a partnership between Stephen F. Austin State University and Children's Miracle Network at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health Systems in Tyler, Texas. Students who are looking to further develop their transferable skills of communication, decision making, influence, organization and teamwork, work together to plan and implement our university's annual Dance Marathon.

The Big Event

SFA's The BIG Event promotes unity between campus and community as students come together for one day to express their gratitude through service for the support from the Nacogdoches community. Students work in teams to complete projects across Nacogdoches County as a way to say "thank you!" to the community for their support of SFA students.

The Pantry

Whether you are on-campus, off campus, or even away from campus, we want make sure that your needs are met. The Pantry is open by appointment only, but still serving student in FULL capacity. Should you need assistance please contact Scarleth Lopez at to schedule an appointment!

Lumberjacks Care/OVW Grant

Fraternity and Sorority Life

Throughout this time the Fraternity & Sorority Life office will be hosting a series of virtual events with our Greek students. Opportunities will include a collective viewing of HAZE the documentary using Netflix parties, increased training modules on recruitment, chapter management, greek guidelines and more.
