  • The Coming of the War and Changes; Boynton elected Second President of SFA
  • August: Birdwell and Boynton suspend football.
  • September: Boynton moves into President’s House
  • November: Inaugurated

  • The Boynton Administration during World War II; Secured for SFA Army Administration School No. 1 [See also, Historical Marker: Women's Army Corps School]; coping with the returning GIs and growth under the "GI Bill®"
  • 1945: Secured US Forest Service farm property which led to the formation of the Department of Forestry at SFA
• 1948
  • SFA Celebrates 25th Anniversary
• 1948-58
  • The Boynton Administration in the 1950s. Catching up with growth. Rebuilding the faculty and campus after the Korean War.
• 1956-58
  • Oversaw the construction of a new home for the Presidents; moved in June of 1958 and hosted first student reception at the opening of the summer term in June.

  • Paul Boynton died of a heart attack in his office in the Austin Building in August.
