SFA's Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band to present 'Earth Dreams' program
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony will present their first concert of the semester at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus.
The concert, entitled "Earth Dreams," will feature the works of American composers, including Timothy Mahr, Timothy Broege, John Mackey and Frank Ticheli.
'Seussical' coming to SFA campus
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Children's Performing Arts Series at Stephen F. Austin State University will present two performances of "Seussical" on Friday, Feb. 10, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus.

SFA Gardens to host Great Backyard Bird Count
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's SFA Gardens and the university's student chapter of the National Association for Interpretation are sponsoring the Great Backyard Bird Count from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St.
The Great Backyard Bird Count is a national event to capture real-time bird populations around the nation.
Participants will count birds with assistance from the Pineywoods Audubon Association and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department non-game ornithologist Cliff Shackelford.
Violinist Trevor to perform Friday night recital
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Internationally renowned violinist Chloé Trevor, who will serve as an adjudicator at Saturday's prestigious George and Peggy Schmidbauer Young Artist Competition at Stephen F. Austin State University, will perform a guest recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
