Swingin' Axes, Aces to perform music of top jazz composers

SFA's equine center engages students in research


The results of a pilot study completed by Michaelle Coker, Stephen F. Austin State University's equine center supervisor, indicates that engaging broodmares in a moderate exercise program can help decrease the number of cycles per conception. Students enrolled in SFA's equine reproduction class played an integral role in the care and monitoring of each broodmare leading up to and during the birthing process.

Cruz visits with SFA administrators and supporters


U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz was in Nacogdoches recently and visited with Stephen F. Austin State University administrators and supporters at the Juanita Curry Boynton House. After a welcome from SFA President Baker Pattillo, pictured at right, Cruz discussed a variety of topics, including the effects of the nationalized student loan program and immigration reform on higher education.
