Title: Garden beside the Emanis Dog Trot
"This garden is where most of our food came from. Daddy planted along with Mother's help. We all picked and my Mother would come in from work and continue to work into the late hours canning the food for us to eat later. My mother, Georgia Marquette Wallace Emanis, was a super cook. Even though we didn't have much money, I would rather eat her food than anyplace else. I especially loved her chicken & dressing, chicken & dumplings, macaroni & cheese, any of her stews, soups, cornbread, biscuits and most of all her sweets, especially her chocolate & coconut pies. Greg [Grant] still grows a garden in this location today."
