The one-story, 1904 Youree Chapel is a masonry Richardsonian Romanesque strucutre with an inset porch, two bays that resemble the entrance of a castle, a gabled roof on the main portion of the building, and a tower.
Historical Background
According to Max Lale, the Scottsville Cemetery is thought to be one of the most beautiful private cemeteries in Texas. Peter and Betty Scott Youree dedicated the stone chapel in 1904 in memory of their only child, William who died at a young age.
