The Heard house is a two-story frame, 1873 Folk Victorian structure. The one-story full length porch is supported by square colums and has flat jigsaw cut trim and spindlework railling. The second floor has three protruding front-facing gable dormers with windows.

Historical Background

Captain W.B. Heard, a Confederate veteran, built the Heard home in 1873.
