Weekday Tours
Anyone interested in attending SFA is strongly encouraged to visit our beautiful campus! Campus tours, guided by SFA students known as "Jack Walkers" (J-Walkers), depart each weekday (10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.) from the Office of Admissions in the Thomas J. Rusk Building.
During the tour, you will see academic facilities, a residence hall, and the library. Additionally, the J-Walkers will point out our recreational facilities, the multipurpose Baker Pattillo Student Center, and some historic landmarks for which Nacogdoches is known.
Perhaps most importantly, a weekday tour gives you an opportunity to see our campus in action, and our J-Walkers can give you a first-hand view of what it's like to be a student at SFA. Additional opportunities you will have when visiting our campus include:
- Visit with an admissions counselor
- Visit with a faculty member in an academic department of your interest (please contact academic department directly to schedule a meeting)
- Visit with a financial aid counselor
- Visit with various student service departments
Reservations for tours can be made by calling (936) 468-2504 or sending an email to admissions@sfasu.edu. Please include the following information to make an appointment over email:
- Student's name
- Major of interest if known
- Preferred date
- Preferred time
- Total number of guests
- Phone number
There are certain times that we are unable to offer tours, so be sure to check our office closings before you plan your trip. If you are unable to visit our campus during the week, we do offer our "open house" program called Showcase Saturday three times per year. We offer some Saturday tours by appointment only.
If you are in need of local accommodations, please visit the Nacogdoches website for a list of local hotels, motels, and Bed and Breakfasts.
