Procuring Software

Effective June 3, 2019: P-Cards can no longer be used to purchase software.

Procuring Software

Deciding on an accessible software can prove to be challenging due to laws/regulations, the multitude of solutions offered, and meeting the needs of the purchasing department. To help facilitate the process, the purpose of the Project Management Office (PMO) is to provide leadership and assistance to the SFASU community in the successful delivery of technology-related projects.

Two steps to verify the procurement of a technology that is accessible and meets departmental needs:

  1. Attend a PMO Forum (details below)
  2. Complete a Project Proposal at the following link (directions below): https://help.sfasu.edu

How to Complete a Project Proposal:

  1. Go to the Technical Support Center Portal (link: https://help.sfasu.edu)
  2. Click "Sign In" in the top right corner
  3. Login using your mySFA credentials
  4. Click on the "Services" tab at the top of the page
  5. Click the "Projects" category
  6. Click "Project Proposal"
  7. Click "Submit Project Proposal"
  8. Complete all fields and click "Request"

Project Management Office (PMO) Forum

Dates: Second Tuesday of Every Month

Time: 9:00am- 4:00pm (come and go as you please)

Location: Boynton Building, Room 109

Purpose: The PMO Forum fosters an open discussion and determines how PMO can help your department be more efficient. If you would like an update on your project, have a general question or an idea to share, or would like to create a project request; the PMO Forum is where you need to be! PMO covers basic business processes to large purchases and everything in-between. By attending a PMO Forum, you will be able to speak with a PMO team member about your ideas/questions/concerns, receive feedback and take any next steps such as submitting a proposal prior to leaving the Forum. By hosing PMO Forums, PMO is able to protect the University, help with better business practices, coordinate ITS resources for your benefit, and assist in learning better process flows.
