NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture will host "An Edible Evening" from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the SFA Sprout Garden, located at 1924 Wilson Drive, Nacogdoches.

SFA's horticulture faculty members and students currently enrolled in the fruit and vegetable production course will educate the Nacogdoches community about fall edible gardening in a fun and unique way.

In addition, SFA students will instruct attendees on how to start seeds, transplant seedlings, cultivate edibles, extend the growing season and harvest fresh produce in their own gardens.

The event will provide an opportunity to view the vegetables currently under evaluation for the East Texas region. There will be additional fun activities, such as cooking demonstrations and pumpkin bowling.

The event is free and designed for participants of all ages.
