Dr. Geneva Fung, staff accompanist at SFA, will perform on all of the pieces presented during an all-Chopin faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in Cole Concert Hall. Other performers include faculty members Drs. Andrew Parr, piano; Jennifer Dalmas, violin; and Evgeni Raychev, cello.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Pianist Dr. Geneva Fung and other members of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music faculty will present a recital of solo piano and chamber works by Frédéric Chopin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in Cole Concert Hall as part of the Cole Performing Arts Series.

The program, which is a celebration of Chopin's 201st birthday, will include Fung performing "Nocturne in C minor, Op. 48, No.1" as a soloist and as a collaborative artist with Professor Andrew Parr (piano), Associate Professor Jennifer Dalmas (violin) and cellist Evgeni Raychev, adjunct faculty.

Fung and Parr will present "Rondo in C major, Op. 48," and she and Dalmas will perform "Nocturne in C-sharp minor."

Fung and Raychev will present "Polanaise Brillante in C major, Op. 3," and Dalmas will join the duo to perform "Trio for Violin, Cello and Piano in G minor, Op. 8."

Fung joined the SFA faculty as a staff accompanist in 2009. The Hong Kong native has appeared as an active soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in Hong Kong and the United States. In frequent demand as a collaborative pianist, she has performed in numerous vocal and instrumental recitals and master classes.

At SFA, Fung serves as accompanist for the Choral Union, opera productions, student recitals, competitions, auditions and master classes.

She received her bachelor's degree from Hong Kong Baptist University, her Master of Music from Texas Sate University, and her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Texas at Austin.
