NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - As a part of its monthly independent film series, the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of "Ike: A Documentary" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at The Cole Art Center @ the Old Opera House, 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches.

In the wake of Hurricane Ike, advanced media technology students at Galveston's Ball High School created the film under the leadership of their instructor Robert Weiss. The lead interviewer for the film, Jennifer Willcut, is now an SFA sophomore majoring in cinematography.

Immediately after the screening, Weiss and Willcut will hold a Q and A session. The pair and others involved in the documentary have conducted panel discussions at other screenings, most notably at the film's May 2009 premiere at Galveston's Grand Opera House and at Austin City Limits.

The film has been featured during a Dan Rather interview, on a segment of "Good Morning America" and on National Public Radio.

Admission to the film is free. For more information, please call (936) 468-1131.
