NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The combined talent of the Stephen F. Austin State University art faculty will be on display during the "SFA Faculty Exhibition," which opens at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, in the Ledbetter Gallery of The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

"This annual exhibition showcases the recent work of our studio artist faculty," said Christian Cutler, director of SFA galleries. "And the opening reception hosted by Nacogdoches Junior Forum gives viewers a chance to meet the artists."

Showing work for the first time in Nacogdoches will be two new assistant professors in the School of Art: Linda Post who teaches digital media, and Runci Tatnall, who teaches drawing and painting.

Post received her Master of Fine Arts form the Vermont College of Fine Arts and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

She has had solo exhibitions in New York and Massachusetts and abroad in London and Turin, Italy. Immediately prior to joining the SFA faculty, Post taught at the University of Houston.

Tatnall earned his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Miami and his Bachelor of Art from the University of Delaware.

His work has been exhibited in Florida, Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania. Most recently, he has taught at the University of Miami and the Miami International University of Art and Design.

The "SFA Faculty Exhibition," which is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Art, is sponsored in part by the SFA Friends of the Visual Arts and Nacogdoches Junior Forum. It will run through Saturday, Oct. 30.

The Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. Main St. Regular gallery hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday. Admission is free. For more information, please call (936) 468-1131.
