Cellist Evgeni Raychev will present a faculty recital as a part of the SFA School of Music's Cole Performing Arts Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in Cole Concert Hall.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present "Celliloquy," a faculty cello recital by Dr. Evgeni Raychev, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

Raychev and Dr. Ron Petti, SFA director of accompanying, will perform a program that features works by Robert Schumann, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the composer's birth, and selections from the standard cello repertoire.

A native of Bulgaria, Raychev joined the SFA music faculty in 2003 after receiving his master's and doctoral degrees from Florida State University. He earned his bachelor's and first master's degrees at the Bulgarian Music Academy in Sofia.

Raychev has performed as soloist, chamber musician and with orchestras in the United States, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Costa Rica.

"Celliloquy" is a part of the SFA School of Music's Cole Performing Arts Series.
