NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - As part of its monthly film series, the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free one-night screening of "The Real Dirt on Farmer John" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in the Ledbetter Gallery of The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

The film, which won accolades at film festivals around the world, including the Audience Award a the BendFilm Festival and Best Documentary Feature at the Nashville Film Festival, is an epic tale of a maverick Midwestern farmer who bravely transforms his farm amidst a failing economy and arson.

Director Taggart Siegel said he "tried to tell a story that unearths the fate of the American farmer and the impact it has on all of us."

The 82-minute film is rated PG -13 and is sponsored by Sandy and Albert Massey.

The Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches.
