NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Stephen F. Austin State University music faculty members will pay tribute to composer Franz Schubert with a chamber music concert featuring his works at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, in Cole Concert Hall.

"An Evening with Schubert" features violinist Jennifer Dalmas, violist Gene H. Moon, cellist Evgeni Raychev and pianists Andrew and Linda Parr.

"Schubert was one of the greatest composers of the early romantic period, and when he died at the age of 31, he left behind masterpieces of almost every musical genre. We see the concert as a fitting way to commemorate the 180th anniversary of his death," explained Raychev.

The highlight of the evening's concert will be the performance of the "Trout," Raychev continued. "It is perhaps the most famous chamber music piece written for violin, viola, cello, bass and piano. My student Max Wilson, Spring sophomore, will be joining us for this piece."

The concert is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Music. Cole Concert Hall is located at 2210 Alumni Dr.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. For tickets or more information, please visit www.sfasu.edu/finearts or call (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS.
