After an extensive national search, Stephen F. Austin State University has appointed Dr. Joe Douglas “Doug” Smith as the next dean of the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture, effective Jan. 1. Current dean, Dr. Hans M. Williams, will retire Dec. 31. 

Stephen F. Austin State University’s Cole Student Success Center will oversee SFA’s participation in the Texas Leadership Scholars Program, an initiative administered by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for Texas students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, service and financial need.
